Thanksgiving for Challenges and Opportunities

The last couple of months there have been many challenges to work through. And, as many of you may or may not know, I love a good challenge!

Since today is Thursday, November the 22nd, most have been celebrating Thanksgiving. However, this day I am also celebrating 32 years with my husband. It has been a challenging 32 years that I am very thankful for. During our marriage my husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful children who have all grown and flown. We also have been gifted with three wonderful young grandchildren. These blessings are only just a few of the countless blessings that I am thankful for.

Kindness and Paying it Forward

When I was a young girl, about the age of kindergarten or first grade, I lived and went to school in the Boston area. In school I struggled making friends, I’m not sure exactly why. There was a young girl who was inviting all the girls in our class to her birthday party. Well, I was so excited, told my Mama, and we bought her a really nice jump rope. Back then that was a nice little gift and the best that we could afford. Continue reading “Kindness and Paying it Forward”

Are you good to yourself?

Has anyone ever told you, “be good to yourself”? Have you ever focused on being good to yourself? And, what does it mean to “be good to yourself”?

Years ago when my children were young I use to drive them to school. On the way we would listen to a Christian radio station, K-LOVE, and sing the songs we would become familiar with. My favorite was “I Can Only Imagine”, by Mercy Me. As I write this I can hear my children singing the song with me. Good times!                                                             Continue reading “Are you good to yourself?”

Many have a constant stormy chatter going on in their mind. In today’s world there is so much noise around that one can hardly hear them self think. The chatter can takeover, increasing stress, anxiety. It can cause confusion, making it difficult to think clearly, and prioritize what needs to be said or done.

How to Love?

Lately, I have been listening to a lot of TED-X talks. The topics initially have been random. Eventually, there would be a run of them on this or that. These are all on YouTube. You can find absolutely anything on YouTube,  it’s kind of scary. If you just let the videos run one after another you have no idea what you will be listening and watching next, and they will not all be TED-X talks, though I don’t always agree with them. Somehow the topic evolved into NDE, Near Death Experiences.

Many of the NDE stories are quite compelling, and have similar characteristics in their stories. Though NDEs are a personal struggle for me with my Catholic beliefs. Continue reading “How to Love?”

Thankfulness

This morning I visited briefly with a young lady. At one point in our conversation I said, “It is only by the Grace of God, that I am standing here before you”. There have been some scary times and unexpected situations in my life, and I am so very thankful for God’s great graces, protection, and mercy that I have come to this place in my life.
