Thanksgiving for Challenges and Opportunities

The last couple of months there have been many challenges to work through. And, as many of you may or may not know, I love a good challenge!

Since today is Thursday, November the 22nd, most have been celebrating Thanksgiving. However, this day I am also celebrating 32 years with my husband. It has been a challenging 32 years that I am very thankful for. During our marriage my husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful children who have all grown and flown. We also have been gifted with three wonderful young grandchildren. These blessings are only just a few of the countless blessings that I am thankful for.

As we journey through life it has a way of presenting us with many different kinds of challenging opportunities, which can change our lives one way or another in a nanosecond. If it were not for these opportunities and challenges I would not be able to enjoy all the blessings that God our Father has bestowed upon me.

Recently, I have been reflecting on my life, the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly. There have been times where I thought God had abandoned me. But, as I look at where I came from, where I am today, and where I want to go in my future, I can see that God has been there all along the way. He has been preparing me for what is to come. For this I am very thankful.

Presently, I have gone out on a limb chasing one of my dreams. It is a challenging one, with the opportunity of helping others with their challenges in a different setting than where I am at right now. For this reason I have been working at living according to some words of Saint Padre Pio, “Pray, hope, and don’t worry”.

Today I am thankful for the opportunities and challenges in my life, for my husband of 32 years, my beautiful children and grandchildren, for the many people who have crossed my path helping to mold me into the person I am today, and the ability to help others in need when I am able.

What are you thankful for? What challenges and opportunities have you encountered that have brought you to where you are today? What blessings have been bestowed upon you along your journey? How have you been showing your appreciation for all of these?

Pray for God’s will be done, Hope for the best, and Don’t worry. Give thanks to God and give Him the glory for all that is good!

And may the peace of our Lord be with you always.
